Artist Interviews: Ryuu竜

What inspired you the most in life?

- "As with most people, inspiration comes from listening to music-it's not the only source, but it's probably the most popular and perhaps somewhat trivial, but it has its place. A second equally important source is harmony with nature or inspiration from a favorite setting in the house or a favourite place that I visit regularly, just relaxing and being away from the hustle and bustle. I absorb positive energy from everything I like, this is the most important factor for me "

How did you start making music?

- "It all started with the fact that in my hands got fl studio I was 14-15 years old I tried to do what I was listening to on the street at the time it was boom bap in the 90's style specifically with the lo-fi genre I met in mid-2018 I at that time has not released music officially as now but only studied and did bits on Soundcloud spaces there I also met with people who further directed me in the right direction. in 2020 I released my first release with the label urbanunderground from that moment I develop my style as an artist in the genre of lo-fi, jazzy and other sub genres"

What is the best piece of advice someone’s ever given to you?

- "I'll answer briefly - Never Give Up!

and only then you can succeed.

I know that it is not easy, but I try not to dwell on the problems, if any, as a rule, they interfere and reflect on everything I touch. for this you need first of all to believe in yourself and your possibilities"

What’s your creative process when making music?

- "Everything consists of several parts. The first is to find the necessary material, including the sounds of the surroundings if i can not record them myself. Subjects further i make a cut in the program for the initial understanding and the kind of track in general then i correct and create the necessary mood on the sampler sp404 and bring all up to the final version. in the process i use such effects as vinyl sim, dj fx looper, isolator, reverb, and more..."

What or who inspires you most in making music?

- "Specifically I am inspired by different sources I mentioned earlier + there are some individual things that affect me is my family is a way of life I lead, the motivation to do something new comes from everywhere from music to movies and video games, the source of inspiration is everywhere you just need to be able to recognise it and use it in time"

Whats your favourite genre besides lofi beats?

- "My favorite genre, lo-fi aside, is probably ambient, the most beautiful genre for concentration, meditation and merging with nature into one"
